Last FO of the year 2015

Hello Dear Friends!

This is the last FO of the year. It is not finished in the picture but I did not have the chance to photograph the finished blanket yet.I did two rows of double crochet on the edge in turqoise and red.

Is it so obvious that I did the photo shooting in a rush?There is hardly any time for anything. I feel exhausted.

This is the view from My Little Man's window; with basil in the window sill.

When I am not  at work or at the faculty, I try to do some home-making. This was from a day as such.

I am back with a ta-daa! post!

This lovely baby girl blanket is finished and wrapped :)

It is made of 25 squares . I used mercerized cotton ; perfect for a hot summer...

My Little Man got a bit jealous and banned me from making blankets for other people and babies. Luckily, his blanket is in progress and close to finishing too...

I love this pattern but the popcorns take time to crochet and I can only make a square a night! But if you think this will keep me from making popcorns, you are definitely wrong. I have already started to plan my next project which is another pattern by Haafner.

I have been robbed!

Hello Dear Friends!
I would like to thank you for your best wishes for my illness. I am well; my test results came ok. I have been very happy for my health then I have started realizing some of my blankets missing.  After long discussions with my mom and sister; we have realized that we have been robbed by the lady who was supposed to help my mom take care of my sister's baby and who had work for us for almost two years.  At  first, we did not realize anything, then we started realizing small items missing; like flower seeds or seedlings or tomatoes gone missing which we had picked earlier from our garden.(such naives we were!) When my mom's neighbour warned us, we started paying attention and we became aware of the small thefts.We did not go to the police(what a mistake!) then but we ended our contract with her.But by that time, she had come to my house three times to help with the cleaning because my cleaning lady went to her home country for three weeks.I work a lot, I come home mostly to sleep so it took me almost six months to realize what went missing;unfortunately there are four crochet blankets missing -two crocheted by me.One is this blanket and the other is this . Both blankets were very much loved and used by My Little Man. So today, I am  grieving the loss of my blankets.I know they are not humans and it is not a precious thing like life that is lost but they were crocheted with so much love and care, I can't help but feel sad.
I hope to be back with happier news next time.  Until then, take care....

joining squares

Hello Dear Friends!
I hope you are all well.I had a total thyroidectomy last week-end and I am now enjoying some house rest.I have watched so many French movies and did nothing. Absolutely nothing. When I started to feel better, I started to feel bored and I joined some squares that I had crocheted earlier.

So far, so good...

Hello Dear Friends!
The weather is so nice for the last couple of days; my garden is in full bloom.

The freesias...

Tangerine blossoms leave their sweet smell in the air....

There is colour everywhere...

I am in a very good mood not just because the weather is good or the house is tidy or the garden is gorgeous but  because I finally had a chance to take photos of my solid granny square blanket . Ta-daa!

Now it has taken its place in Mr. Teenager's room. He is so happy about it!

DOILIES

Hello Dear Friends!
Last week was just about doilies! I suddenly felt the need to crochet some doilies.

I was admiring some white doilies on pinterest but I preferred to crochet them in colour...

I made one, then another, then another...

Now I have eight doilies of various sizes and I don't know what to do with them.Any ideas?

busy days...

Hello Dear Friends!

My Little Man has been so busy lately that there has been no time to crochet.

He was pretty tired from all the extra work but it was worth it!

When I tell people that we cannot meet and have coffee or a chat because My Little Man has a very busy after-school programme, they think I am joking at first. Then, they realize I am not joking. I am keeping him busy in a healthy way; the alternative is staying at his grand-mother's watching T.V. 

I have to confess that this busy programme is consuming me.I drive him and wait till he finishes if the distance is long.I have started a Masters degree programme myself as well; so I will have to be studying a lot this coming couple of years. Please do not forget that I have a full time job too. So I am now feeling a bit depressed, proud, determined, tired etc... I guess I will not be around too much in near future. But I still have to show you my finished solid granny square blanket.Till then, good-bye!

I am working on the border...

This crochet border is for the solid granny square blanket I started way back in 2013. I started to join the squares in March 2013, then forgot about it totally.

I hope to be back with a ta-daa! post soon but life is so hectic these days; I cannot be sure to finish...

A New Baby Blanket

Hello Dear Friends!

My cousin's wife is expecting a baby girl, so I decided to crochet a blanket for her. The baby is due April which gives me time to crochet and ship it to Australia. This will be my first experience to ship anything abroad.

Today is a bright sunny day, my Little Man's horse riding lesson is cancelled so it will be a day to relax rather than run here and there.I will be enjoying home hopefully.
